Outpatient Therapist
Gina Grammatico joined Bayside Marin in October 2024. Gina is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist that works in our Intensive Outpatient program. Gina graduated from Holy Names University in Oakland, CA in December 2021 with her Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology. Since becoming a therapist, Gina spent the first three years working in the Oakland Unified School District as a therapist in an elementary school. Most recently Gina worked as a bilingual clinical counselor at a Medi-cal based rehabilitation program for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders (inpatient and outpatient) for adult males in the South Bay.
Gina was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan but relocated to Oakland, CA after graduating from the University of Michigan in 2014 with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology and Spanish. Before becoming a therapist, Gina worked in the tech industry as an HR/Recruiting professional for seven years. Towards the tail end of her tech career Gina was concurrently obtaining her master’s degree and working as a therapist part-time. Gina transitioned to doing psychotherapy work full-time at the end of 2023.
Gina practices many different treatment modalities as an eclectic therapist but often finds herself consistently utilizing psychodynamic theory to inform her practice. Gina specializes in Shinrin-yoku or “forest bathing.” Shinrin-yoku emerged from Japan during the 80s to offer an eco-antidote to tech-boom burnout. Gina became a Forest Bathing Guide in 2023 in order to implement healing interventions that immerse one into the natural world in order to bolster their physical, spiritual, and mental health. Gina is passionate about the intersection of psychotherapy and nature and is excited about the potential to share it with the Bayside Marin community.
In her free time, Gina enjoys going to the beach or hiking with her Australian Shepherd, Junie. If she’s not outside, she’s inside cheffing something up. Gina enjoys learning about anything and everything, going on international adventures, and attending live shows.
